Sure, beach trips, cookouts, and s’mores are great—but no summer is complete without scoring a few Prime Day deals. So when is Amazon Prime Day 2022? And exactly how much stuff is going on sale this year? To help you make the most of your time and money, we tracked down everything we know about the shopping event so far—including its exact date, the early deals you need to shop, and the competing sales that’ll bring the heat. Let’s get into it.

When is Amazon Prime Day 2022?

It’s official: Amazon Prime Day 2022 will take place on Tuesday, July 12, through Wednesday, July 13. (More like Prime Days.) During the first year of the pandemic, the event was bumped to October, and it fell in June last year—so this summer’s sales event is a welcome return to form.

Amazon isn’t the only retailer getting in on the Prime Day action: Each year at around the same time, a slew of other retailers hold their own rival sales to keep up with the ’Zon. Nordstrom, Target, Walmart, Best Buy, and plenty of other brands will be slashing prices the week of Amazon Prime Day. It’s basically Black Friday in July—and that means low prices just about everywhere you love to shop.

Who can shop Amazon Prime Day?

Fittingly, the best deals are reserved for Amazon Prime members, who get access to lightning deals, free two-day shipping, and extra benefits like Prime Video and Amazon Prime Music. If you don’t have a membership, you might get lucky with coupons or a few unofficial Prime Day deals from select sellers, but you’ll be missing out on all the member perks. Need more convincing? What are the best Amazon Prime Day deals?

We thought you’d never ask! Most sales are still under wraps, but you can already score a ton of early Prime Day deals. Summer fashion staples (like strappy heels and denim shorts) and top-shelf beauty products (like hair masks and internet-famous skin-care products) are already marked down. Prime Day sales are beginning on tech, kitchen appliances, and smart home gadgets. And many Amazon devices—think Kindle Paperwhites, Echo Shows, and Amazon Fire TVs—are at some of the lowest prices we’ve seen right now, but only for a limited time.

And those are just the best early Prime Day Deals—if previous years are any indication, we’re in for a landslide of steals on everything from jeans to iPads, Instant Pots to air fryers, smart TVs to Bluetooth speakers. (Oh, and don’t forget the sex toys.) While you could go it alone, there’s no need to. We’re experts on all things Prime Day at Glamour—and we’re here to sift through the deals for you. As you gear up for the big day, we recommend looking through our Prime Day coverage and signing up for our shopping newsletter to get all the best Amazon deals delivered directly to your inbox.
